Attorney James Donohoo’s career path as a Milwaukee divorce lawyer started upon graduating law school in 1974. James practiced in a number of different legal disciplines, including family law, criminal law, and personal injury law, among others. He practiced with several firms, including one of the premier Milwaukee family law firms. During this time James handled in excess of 1,000 criminal cases including numerous jury trials and was cited as a legal expert on Hannity & Colmes.
James noticed a preference for ultra-personal representation, both in clients and himself. Where some firms would often get caught up in process-oriented thinking, clients preferred goal-oriented attorneys who invested themselves personally in their cases. Personal representation began with a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the client’s objectives. Cases developed more strongly on a heighted sense of attorney accountability and pride. James decided to found his own practice based on this realization.
James became a solo practitioner, employing the assistance of a secretary and a clerk. He began honing experience in child custody, child support, marital property division, pension and divorce issues, and other Wisconsin family law issues into a practical understanding of Wisconsin family law. James brought a total commitment to his clients into each case, developing an increasingly strong track record of success.
