Biography
Unlike many of my colleagues, becoming an attorney was actually not my intended career path. My parents were the first in my family to graduate from college and none of my relatives had attended law school. Instead, I grew up in west Cobb County playing basketball and baseball – lots of baseball. Those days taught me a lot about the power of teamwork, the thrill of competition, and the necessity of hard work. In addition to being born and raised here, my roots in this community spread to Marietta High School (where both my parents graduated as well) and Marietta First Baptist Church just off the Marietta Square. As a Blue Devil at MHS, I continued to play sports, but my parents were strong advocates for doing well academically. Fortunately, that encouragement paid off and allowed me to attend Mercer University on an academic scholarship. While there, I joined the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, made many lifelong friends, and eventually graduated cum laude with a degree in Economics in 2007.

Biography
Attorney Burgess Williams is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on personal injury law, including cases involving motor vehicle collisions, workplace injuries, sexual abuse/assault, wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, and all cases where negligence results in bodily and financial harm. Mr. Williams puts his clients’ interests above all else and fights hard to recover their damages. Having lived in Latin America for several years, Burgess is fluent in Spanish. While living in Argentina, Burgess founded a company that manufactured luxury leather goods for export abroad. Burgess’ experience in the business world before becoming an attorney has allowed him to understand that dimension of cases that is often overlooked or underappreciated. Outside of his practice, Burgess actively volunteers his time at workers’ rights and consumer advocacy groups. Attorney Burgess Williams believes that the courtroom is not only a place where people can enforce their rights, but also a place where real change can occur. It is with this in mind that he is a fierce defender of the right to a trial by jury guaranteed in the Seventh Amendment to the US Constitution.
