Robert E.L. Bennett is a 1975 graduate of the University of Washington. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Puget Sound Law School in 1979 (Seattle University School of Law since 1994). Shortly after joining the Washington State Bar in May, 1980 he opened his solo law practice at 1614 Washington Street, Vancouver, Washington, where he continues to practice law.

He was the prevailing attorney in the seminal Washington case regarding “no pets” vs. “service animal”. Timberlane Mobile Home Park v. Washington Human Rights Commission, 122 Wash.App. 896,95 P.3d 1288 (2004).
